IT recruitment is projected to increase by 8.5% by the following year due to rising demand, according to a report.

A recent survey by the recruitment platform Indeed indicates that IT hiring is projected to increase by approximately 8.5% in the upcoming calendar year. Indeed's official statement highlighted that following a period of stagnation late last year and early this year, there is a rising demand for skilled IT professionals. This trend underscores the importance for businesses to strategically plan their hiring approaches for the forthcoming year.

The survey reveals that around 70% of all technology positions currently available on Indeed are concentrated in software roles. The most prevalent job posting is for application developers, accounting for 7.29%, followed by software engineers at 5.54%, full stack developers at 4.34%, senior software engineers at 4.22%, and PHP developers at 2.51%.

The prevalence of software roles on Indeed can be attributed to several interrelated factors. As organizations increasingly rely on software to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation, the need for developers to design and maintain critical systems has significantly intensified.

According to Indeed's market analysis, the flourishing tech startup ecosystem significantly contributes to the demand for developers, as emerging companies focus on recruiting talent to develop and expand their products. Furthermore, the ongoing necessity for software updates, security enhancements, and the introduction of new features creates a consistent requirement for skilled professionals capable of adapting to changing user expectations and technological progress.

In reference to the study, Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, remarked that the IT sector has long been a vital source of employment. Nevertheless, recent quarters have experienced a hiring slowdown, with companies adopting a cautious approach amid global uncertainties and economic fluctuations. Currently, however, the situation is improving. Organizations are increasingly intensifying their recruitment efforts, and it is anticipated that Global Capability Centers (GCCs) will play a significant role in this hiring surge, especially in software and technology positions.

The research revealed a significant correlation between the positions advertised by companies and the roles that job seekers are engaging with. Indeed indicates that this reflects a prominent market trend. The substantial demand for full stack developers and software engineers from both employers and job seekers highlights the essential requirement for adaptable and highly proficient IT professionals.
